Company
Custom Plumbing Services Pty Ltd began its operations in 1979, when Ted Kearney and John Stephens decided to pool their resources and establish the company. They focused mainly on plumbing maintenance and minor commercial plumbing and drainage installations. In 1985 Custom Plumbing Services Pty Ltd built workshop facilities in the industrial suburb of Fyshwick to centralize its administration and storage requirements.
During the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, the company continued its successful expansion to become a medium sized contractor installing hydraulic services into large commercial and industrial buildings and small home unit development’s. By 1995 Custom Plumbing Services Pty Ltd employed 12 qualified tradesmen, 4 apprentices and 2 office staff on a permanent/part time basis.
A change in company direction in 1996 saw John Stephens become the sole director. During the next 8 years further expansion took place with its focus mainly on large home unit developments and government buildings. Its workforce increased to 1 supervisor, 10 qualified tradesmen, 4 apprentices and 1 permanent office staff.
Early in 2004, Tony Maybury joined the company as an equal equity director. Tony brought to Custom Plumbing Services Pty Ltd experience which allowed it to focus on large home unit developments, commercial and industrial buildings, fit outs and some of Canberra’s most valued infrastructure.
In July 2010, Wayne Philp became a shareholder within the company and joined forces with Tony Maybury. Wayne brings a wealth of experience in major commercial/industrial projects.
Today our depth of experience and structure is targeted to allow us to provide competitive tenders in all facets of the hydraulics industry.
